We are a passionate team on a mission to bring the authentic flavours of Mexico to those living in Spain and the UK.
Our Story
Recetas Mexas was born from a real need: thousands of Mexicans and Mexican food lovers living in Europe who want to cook their favourite dishes but cannot find the right ingredients, do not know where to buy them, or are unaware of local alternatives.
Founded by Edmond Bojalil, a Puebla native living in Madrid since 2018, the platform combines his tech background with a genuine passion for Mexican gastronomy. Edmond is not a professional chef — he is an IT professional and foodie who understands first-hand the frustration of not finding the right ingredients. Every recipe has been carefully adapted: we include the original Mexican names of each ingredient alongside their local equivalents, approximate prices and the shops where you can find them.
Today, Recetas Mexas features over 178 authentic recipes, a directory of more than151 specialist shops and 571+ verified Mexican restaurants across Spain and the UK. Every recipe includes the cultural history and origin of the dish, because we believe that understanding tradition is a fundamental part of cooking with authenticity.

The Team
Edmond Bojalil

Originally from Puebla, Mexico, Edmond is an IT professional by trade, a foodie at heart and a content creator focused on Mexican food and restaurants. He moved to Madrid in 2018 and has since been exploring the Mexican food scene across Spain — from hidden taquerias to Michelin-starred restaurants.
What started as a personal frustration at not finding ingredients like dried chillies, nixtamalised corn masa or fresh epazote in European supermarkets became Recetas Mexas: a platform where every recipe is adapted with ingredients available at local shops, supplemented with specialist products when needed.
Beyond the project, Edmond is a hard music podcaster (hardstyle, hardcore, hard techno) known as Hardmon online, and a TikToker sharing Mexican food discoveries across Spain. His profile blends technology, gastronomy and culture — a mix that defines the DNA of Recetas Mexas.
