Cookie Notice
Last updated: June 2, 2026
This notice explains what cookies are, how Recetas Mexas uses them on our US website, and the choices available to you, including how to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
This page is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. You should consult your own attorney for advice specific to your situation.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites store in your browser to remember information about you (such as your session, preferences, or how you interact with the site). We also use similar technologies such as pixels and local storage.
Do US cookie rules require opt-in consent?
Unlike the EU and UK (where GDPR requires prior opt-in consent for non-essential cookies), US law does not require you to opt in before we set analytics or advertising cookies. Instead, California's CPRA gives you the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information, which can include certain advertising and analytics cookies. See the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” section below.
Categories of cookies we use
1. Essential cookies (always active)
Required for the basic operation of the site. These cannot be turned off:
- Login session: keeps you signed in across pages.
- Cookie/opt-out preferences: remembers your choices, including any opt-out.
- Selected location: remembers the city you indicated for local results.
- Security/CSRF: protects against request-forgery attacks.
2. Analytics cookies
Used to understand how the site is used so we can improve it:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): measures pages visited, session duration and traffic sources (aggregated data).
3. Affiliate & advertising cookies
We participate in the Amazon Associates Program and may use affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link, the partner (e.g., Amazon) may set cookies to attribute a qualifying purchase. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
- Amazon Associates: affiliate attribution cookies set by Amazon.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
If you are a California resident (or otherwise wish to opt out), you may direct us not to “sell” or “share” your personal information as those terms are defined under the CPRA. To exercise this right:
- Email us at contacto@recetasmexas.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.”
- Decline or dismiss analytics/advertising cookies in our cookie banner.
- Enable a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we honor as a valid opt-out request.
How to manage cookies in your browser
You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings:
Note: disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using features such as login, favorites and your shopping list.
