Mexican Restaurants in Belfast: A Neighborhood Guide

Belfast has a denser Mexican map than its size suggests, and it splits along the city's own geography: a cluster of city-center counters in the BT1 postcodes, a run down the Lisburn Road and Botanic Avenue in the south, two independents out east, and one neighborhood deli in the west. This article covers every Mexican and Mexican-influenced venue currently mapped in our US directory for Belfast, grouped by the area each address falls in.

Belfast city center

Three entries sit in BT1, between Victoria Square, Castle Street and the waterfront at Donegall Quay.

Boojum Victoria Square

Boojum Victoria Square is inside the shopping center of the same name, at 4 Victoria Square, Belfast BT1 4QG. Our records describe it as Boojum's flagship Belfast city-center branch, a high-volume location serving the chain's signature burritos, tacos and salads alongside Mexican-style soft drinks. It sits in the budget band, and the hours we hold show an 11:30 opening with a 21:00 close across the days recorded, including Sunday.

La Taqueria Castle Street

La Taqueria Castle Street is at 53 Castle Street, Belfast BT1 1GH, a couple of minutes west of the City Hall end of the center. Taquitos

Taquitos is on Donegall Quay, Belfast BT1 3NG, on the riverside beside the Big Fish landmark. Our records place it as a Mexican street food operation running as a food truck since 2018, and note that the team makes its signature adobo paste and hand-pressed corn tortillas fresh daily. It falls in the budget band.

Boojum Botanic Avenue

Boojum Botanic Avenue is at 67-69 Botanic Avenue, Belfast BT7 1JL, on the student-heavy strip running down towards the university. Our entry records it as the original Belfast Boojum, a fast-casual burrito bar founded in 2007 and now, according to the listing, one of Ireland's biggest Mexican brands, with build-your-own burritos, bowls and tacos.

East Belfast

Acapulco Restaurant Belfast

Pica Belfast

Pica Belfast is at 45 Belmont Road, Belfast BT4 2AA, a short way further east. Our records list it as a taqueria opened in 2025 by two local chefs, a casual music-led venue serving tacos, small plates and an eleven-strong margarita list with handpicked tequila and mezcal. It is in the mid-range band.

The opening pattern we hold is restricted: Monday, Tuesday and Sunday recorded as closed, with a split Friday service of 12:00 to 15:00 and 17:00 to 22:00, and a 12:00 start on Saturday. Little Mexican Deli

Using this list, and keeping it right

Read as a whole, the Belfast map has two layers. One is fast-casual and budget-band: the three Boojum branches, Taquitos and Little Mexican Deli, spread from Victoria Square out to Stewartstown Road. The other is a set of mid-range sit-down independents, evening-led in most cases, from Castle Street and Ormeau Road out to Belmont Road and the far end of the Lisburn Road.

Everything above comes from our database rather than from visits, and opening patterns in particular go out of date quickly. Each venue has its own listing page on the site with a route to report a change, and those corrections feed back into the directory, which is the only way a map like this stays useful between updates.
